How to Create Memorable Wedding Invitations
by
Jodi Reeb-Myers
I’m excited to share the creative art of beading and paper crafting with you. Use my ideas from Beaded Weddings as a starting point for your own invitations, thank-you cards, and more! I hope you’ll be inspired by the projects you see in the book—all of which were created with various beaded projects from embellished ribbon to gluing sequins.
Here are my tips for creating memorable wedding invitations:
- Color. Decide how you’ll use color in your invitations to tie in with your wedding. It will be the first glimpse your guests will get of your special day.
- Style. Will your wedding be a formal affair or one on the beach at sunset? This will set the tone for your beaded embellishments to include shells or pearls.
- Format. Do you want the beads to be part of the closure or decorative? Browse the book and see what catches your eye, combining ideas to create your own. Finding the envelope will help decide size.
- Time. Once you have your idea, create a mock-up of the invitation. Assembly will go faster with the help of your friends and family or by hosting a Bridal Beading party.
- Enjoy! It is satisfying to have all of your guests receive their handmade beaded invitations.
